So you wanna drive a race car?

We are here to help you and guide you on how to do it.

Track days

The simplest way is to buy a auto racing helmet and bring your street car to a track.   Register with one of the many clubs that organize track days in the country.  You will pay a fee,  between $300 to $400 for a day.

Your street car is not a race car, but it will give you a taste for driving on track. Just make sure is in good mechanical condition,  decent brakes, install a tow hook or strap, and you are ready to go.

Most clubs have different levels for drivers.  At the beginner level, usually they provide instructors that ride with you,  and they just do follow along, with no passing allowed. As you progress through the sessions, you are allowed passing in certain sections of the track.

Racing Schools

A bigger investment, but if you can afford it, the best option to learn proper race driving.  You can find schools for a big variety of racing cars,  from GT, formula cars,  modifieds on dirt ovals, off road, sprint cars,  drag racing, stock cars, touring cars.

They usually run 1, 2 or 3 day school programs.  It really worth the investment. In some of the programs you can get a Novice license, required for wheel to wheel competition.
